Frequently Asked Questions
Questions you always wanted to ask but had no one to ask...
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are artificial replacements for tooth roots. They are made of a unique metal and are inserted into the jawbone, allowing stable artificial teeth to be anchored to them.
This is a huge breakthrough in the world of dentistry – a solution that gives people back the ability to eat, speak and smile with complete confidence, and significantly improves their quality of life.
How long does a dental implant last?
Dental implants can last for decades or even a lifetime – provided that proper oral hygiene, brushing, flossing, and regular checkups with a dentist are maintained.
What is the difference between dental implants and dentures?
Dental implants are an artificial replacement for a tooth root, which is implanted in the jawbone and a permanent tooth is attached to it. In contrast, dentures rest on the gums and can sometimes move or be uncomfortable. Implants provide a natural feel and chewing ability that is almost identical to real teeth.
What is a zirconia crown and why is it better than a regular porcelain crown?
A zirconia crown is made from a highly durable material that mimics the translucency of natural teeth. It is stronger than regular porcelain crowns, contains no metal and therefore does not cause darkening of the gum line, and provides a more aesthetic and natural appearance.
Is implant placement or installation of a zirconia crown painful?
The treatments are performed under local anesthesia so that you do not feel any pain during the procedure. Afterwards, there may be mild discomfort or swelling, which disappears within a few days and can be controlled with appropriate medications.
How long does the oral rehabilitation process with zirconia implants and crowns take?
The duration of treatment varies from person to person. In most cases, an implant requires several months for full absorption into the jawbone (3–6 months), after which the crown is installed. In some cases, it is possible to perform an “immediate loading” and install temporary teeth on the day of the implant.
